the importance of oxygen rich blood to the body

Importance of oxygen to the human body: Why Oxygen Matter’s Most?

Introduction

In this article I want to discuss about importance of oxygen to our body. No other gas but oxygen.  Oxygen is very, very essential.  Oxygen is essential to carry out day to functions or day today activities.  At the same time, I also want to discuss about the relation of oxygen with heart attack or heart diseases and the relationship between the blockage in the coronary artery and heart attack.

This is what I will discuss in this video.

From where do we get energy?

We get energy from the food we eat. Energy is stored in the food in the form of chemical energy. When these chemical bonds are broken down, the energy is released. In ordero release the energy stored in food, oxygen is required. When a C-C carbon-carbon bond is broken down in the presence of oxygen, carbon dioxide is formed and energy is released. The liberated carbon dioxide is a waste product. This process is called as cellular respiration.

Indirectly, we are using the energy obtained from the sun. Let us see, how? You see the plants use carbon dioxide as the raw material and sunlight as the source of energy. This process is called as photosynthesis. In this process oxygen is released as a byproduct. By using other nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium and several other micronutrients plants produce carbohydrates, fats and proteins. The energy from the sun is stored in the food in the form of chemical energy.

So, we get energy from the food. We get energy form the energy stored in chemical bonds. Breaking the chemical bonds in presence of oxygen releases energy.  This energy is stored in the body in the form of ATP. Our body contains trillions of cells. Each cell is like an individual factory. ATP is the energy currency of the cell.

———————————————————————————————————————————

What cells do with the ATP?

Cells require energy for their survival. Cells carry out several functions in the body like energy production, making muscle cells, and to make other biological molecules like enzymes, hormones, immunity and so on. For carrying out all these functions Oxygen is essential.

—————————————————————————————————————————–

How do all cells get oxygen?

How and from where do we get oxygen. We breathe air through our lungs. In the lungs oxygen gets transferred to the blood and carbon dioxide gets exchanged into the lungs. The oxygen gets bound to hemoglobin in the blood. Hemoglobin is the carrier of oxygen in the blood.

Heart is the central organ which supplies blood to all the cells in the body. It supplies nutrients and oxygenated blood to all the parts, to all the cells in the body. At the same time it send the de-oxygenated blood to the lungs for purification.  The cycle continues.

—————————————————————————————————————————–

Heart requires continuous supply of oxygen & nutrients.

Heart is mainly the pump which pumps the blood to all the parts of the body 24/7. It does not take any rest. Heart muscles also requires oxygen and nutrients to perform their function. If the heart gets less oxygen its performance its affected.

—————————————————————————————————————————-

Coronary artery supplies oxygen rich blood to heart

Our body has different types of arteries. Coronary artery supplies oxygen- and nutrient-rich blood to the heart.

If the coronary artery is healthy, the heart gets the required amount of oxygen-and nutrient-rich blood. Ultimately all the cells in the body get their daily quota of oxygen and nutrients. They perform exceedingly well. What does this mean for you? God health or healthy heart and healthy life.

————————————————————————————————————————

What we can conclude from this?

If the coronary artery is healthy the heart functions well. It gets sufficient oxygen. When it comes to nutrients, it depends upon you. It depends upon what you eat. It depends upon you providing all the nutrients the body needs.

For healthy life

OXYGEN is very important

NUTRIENTS is important.

Your health depends upon these two things- oxygen and the nutrients
